With over 25 years of optical experience and specializing in Optometric Glaucoma, we are experts in all facets of optometry.
Dr. Colvin graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2000 with honors. She has been in the optical industry for over 25 years. Some of her experience includes optician, trainer, and lab technician. She is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. Dr Colvin was born in Fort Worth and her family is from Argyle Texas. She lives in Fort Worth with her husband George.
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Decatur, Tx. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University in 2005. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated with honors in 2010. Dr. Smith is specialized in the treatment and management of Glaucoma, Dry Eye, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic eyecare and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and five children.
Dr. Gill graduated from University of North Texas with a bachelors in History and Political Science in 2012. Dr. Gill later graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a masters in History. Through his educational journey to become a teacher Dr. Gill was an optician at Heritage Family Eyecare where he grew a passion for optometry working alongside Dr. Colvin. Dr. Gill graduated from Illinois College of Optometry with an emphasis in dry eye and vision therapy. Dr. Gill now lives in Fort Worth with his family and enjoys spending time with friends and playing basketball.
Eddie has been in the optical industry for over 25 years. Some of his experiences include management, trainer, optician and lab technician. He has over 15 years in optical management experience. Eddie lives in the Keller area with his wife Melissa and their 2 kids. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and watching sports. Eddie manages our office and is dedicated to making sure your experience at HFEC is second to none.
Amanda is our Administrator. She began her optical career in 2000 and has worked in all areas of our office. Amanda is Dr. Colvin’s right hand and is responsible for all of our marketing and charity events. Amanda is proficient in all aspects of running our office. She lives in the local Heritage area with her four children Dylan, Devin, Cullen and Amethyst. In her free time she likes spending time with her children, watching The Dallas Cowboys, cooking and going to Cons.
Heather is our Insurance Coordinator. Working in optical since 2012, she is devoted to finding the perfect fit for our patients eyewear needs. She attended Texas State University and The University of North Texas and has plans on continuing her education in the healthcare field. She resides in Fort Worth with her fiance, DJ. In her free time she enjoys weight training, challenging herself with puzzle games, and watching football.
Veronica is one of our optical technicians. She graduated from Fossil Ridge High School in 2010. Veronica is in the US Army Reserves. She did her basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and continued training in For Sam Houston as a medical logistic specialist. She was a patient of Dr Colvin’s for years before she became an employee. She is working on becoming an optician while training as an optical technician.
Megan has several responsibilities at HFEC and is currently one of our newest opticians. She is currently studying to be a fire inspector/investigator. She graduated from UNT with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, a minor in Psychology. She lives in Denton and spends her free time watching and reading the newest discoveries in true crime, and hanging out with her dog, Doc Holliday.
