COVID - 19 UPDATE
Dear Valued Northlake Family EyeCare Patients:
We miss you! We also want you to know that as your local eye doctors, you can trust that we always take health and your eye care seriously.
In accordance with the guidelines set by Governor Greg Abbot, our Heritage & Northlake offices will be open for medical and routine eye care on Monday May 11th. In order to protect the health of our patients, doctors, and staff; our offices will be thoroughly cleaned and continually disinfected multiple times throughout the day.
Common Questions and Protocol Changes at our Offices
Please bring your own face mask to your appointment or visit to the office. If you do not have one, we will provide one for you.
Due to some schedule changes to increase social distancing, please confirm your appointment time prior to arriving at the office. We are applying a cancelation fee if we are not notified because our schedule is reduced to ensure social distancing.
If you are an at risk demographic, we will also continue to offer telehealth video virtual examinations for patients with certain eye and lid infections. Please contact our office for details.
If you are sick or have been recently exposed to COVID-19, we ask you to reschedule your appointment and follow isolation guidelines.
Only patients will be allowed into the office and ask that other family members stay in their car. A parent or caregiver will be allowed to join a minor or patient for the exam.

What can you expect upon arriving at the office?
Our doors will be locked in order to limit the number of patients in the office at one time. Please call the number provided on the office door signage to let us know that you have arrived for your appointment.
All Patients will be required to bring and wear a mask for their appointment
All patients (and even our staff and doctors) will have their temperature checked upon arrival at the office. Patients with a temperature of greater than 99.5 will be asked to reschedule their appointment. All patients will be required to answer COVID-19 specific questions prior to the exam.
What specific steps have your taken regarding the office space?
Our offices have implemented a COVD-19 specific protocol including disinfection, thorough surface cleaning, and eyewear sanitizing between patients. Our doctors and staff are provided will be utilizing PPE.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we are all adapting to these abrupt changes in office protocol.

Our Team

Dr. Colvin graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2000 with honors. She has been in the optical industry for over 25 years. Some of her experience includes optician, trainer, and lab technician. She is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. Dr Colvin was born in Fort Worth and her family is from Argyle Texas. She lives in Fort Worth with her husband George.

Dr. Gill graduated from University of North Texas with a bachelors in History and Political Science in 2012. Dr. Gill later graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a masters in History. Through his educational journey to become a teacher Dr. Gill was an optician at Heritage Family Eyecare where he grew a passion for optometry working alongside Dr. Colvin. Dr. Gill graduated from Illinois College of Optometry with an emphasis in dry eye and vision therapy. Dr. Gill now lives in Fort Worth with his family and enjoys spending time with friends and playing basketball.

Dr. Hatton was born and raised in Dayton, OH and graduated from Miami University with a degree in Microbiology. She later attended Indiana University School of Optometry and graduated in 2019 with her Doctorate. She moved to Texas to complete a residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation to expand her knowledge in treatment of patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries, tracking and eye teaming disorders, and vision-related learning problems. Dr. Hatton is happy to call Texas her new home and is looking forward to starting her family here.
